The Croatian coach of Alhilal, Zoran Mamic, said that his team is going through extraordinary circumstances at present. However, Zoran was happy with the win over Ettifaq in Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup.
Alhilal was qualified for the semi-final after defeating Ettifaq with 3-2, at Prince Mohamed Bin Fahd Stadium, in a tough and exciting game in the quarter-final.
“In the second half, we were able to score more goals and ensure victory, but this is football.” Zoran said in the post-match press conference.
He added “It’s very difficult to play a game every 3 days. We are the only team in the world that faces such circumstances, so squad rotation is a must”.
The Croatian coach commented on the exclusion of Carlos Eduardo and Bafétimbi Gomis by justifying that Eduardo has just recovered from a bad injury and playing this match could be a risk, while Gomis has been suffering from knee pain since the last game against Al Nassr.
