Osama Hawsawi confirms his retirement next January
Osama Hawsawi told Al Wehda management that he would stop playing football in January due to his own circumstances and knee injury.
Hawsawi made a statement on his official Twitter account: “I wish our fans won’t believe rumours. Unfortunately, many clubs have advanced to the Saudi League after us and have settled for many years.”
He added: “From the beginning of the season, I agreed with the club head, Hatem Khaimi, coach Fabio, my whole team and my teammates. They all know that I will stop playing next January. I have my own reasons, including a knee injury, which will prevent me from continuing.”
He spoke about Al Ittihad rumours: “It’s a great team, but everyone knows that I’m a professional player. The system doesn’t allow to negotiate with a player before he enters the last six months without his club’s permission.”
